The Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International is the world's largest professional organization dedicated to the enhancement of public safety communications. APCO International serves the professional needs of its 15,000 members worldwide by creating a platform for setting professional standards, addressing professional issues and providing education, products and services for people who manage, operate, maintain and supply the communications systems used by police, fire, and emergency medical dispatch agencies throughout the world.
Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS). ATIS is a leading standards development and technical planning organization committed to rapidly developing and promoting technical and operations standards for the communications and related information technologies industry worldwide. Participants from more than 300 communications companies are active in ATIS' 22 industry committees.
CDMA Development Group (CDG). CDG is an international consortium of companies who have joined together to lead the adoption and evolution of 3G CDMA wireless systems around the world. The CDG is comprised of CDMA service providers and manufacturers, application developers and content providers. By working together, the members help to ensure interoperability among systems, while expediting the availability of 3G CDMA technology to consumers.
CommNexus San Diego, formerly the San Diego Telecom Council, is a non-profit network of communications industry companies, defense industry companies, service providers, professional trade organizations, and local government. CommNexus San Diego works to accelerate the formation, growth, and success of communications technology and service companies in the San Diego region.
The mission of the E9-1-1 Institute is to support the Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus and assist in promoting public education on E9-1-1 and emergency communications issues. We do this by serving as an information clearinghouse on E9-1-1 and emergency communications issues and creating a forum for policy discussions related to E9-1-1 and emergency communications that will benefit public policy development.
Emergency Services Interconnection Forum (ESIF). ESIF is the primary venue for the telecommunications industry, public safety and other stakeholders to generate and refine both technical and operational interconnection issues to ensure life-saving E9-1-1 services are available for everyone in all situations. ESIF's mission is to facilitate the identification and resolution of both technical and operational issues related to the interconnection of telephony and emergency services networks.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). The IEEE is a non-profit organization and is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. Through its global membership, the IEEE is a leading authority on areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and consumer electronics.
The Mobile Marketing Association is an action-oriented association designed to clear obstacles to market development, to establish guidelines and best practices for sustainable growth, and to evangelize the mobile channel for use by brands and third party content providers.
MMA members include agencies, advertisers, hand held device manufacturers, wireless operators and service providers, retailers, software and services providers, as well as any company focused on the potential of marketing via the mobile channel.
National Emergency Number Association (NENA) was established to promote implementation and awareness of 9-1-1 as North America's universal emergency number. NENA's Mission is to foster the technological advancement, availability and implementation of a universal emergency telephone number system (9-1-1).NENA promotes research, planning, training and education. The protection of human life, the preservation of property, and the maintenance of general community security are among NENA's objectives.
