Openwave, a global company with approximately 1,300 employees headquartered in Redwood City, California, is a provider of open software products and services for the communications industry, including wireless operators, broadband providers and device manufacturers. Openwave launched in November 2000 as a result of the merger of Phone.com and Software.com. Phone.com, founded in 1995, and Software.com, founded in 1993, both had a long history of delivering innovative software products and technology to CSP's worldwide.
